The role of the
Governing Council
The Governing council
works in conjunction with School staff. They are a group of individuals who
work together for a common purpose to act for the common good of the Paringa
Park Primary School. The council is elected by the school community to act
on its behalf.
The Governing Council
has responsibility for:

Strategic financial planning, including
budgeting and administering finances and planning and authorising the
allocation of school funds.

Human resource planning, including
participation in appointment of leadership positions.

Involvement in the program and activities
of the school and encouraging other parents and community members to do
so.

The formulation,
review and approval of policies in conjunction with school staff and
within
DECS frameworks.

Overseeing the development of the
Partnership Plan, monitoring the implementation of the plan and
reporting on its success and the areas that need improvement.

Establishing goals and priorities for
Paringa Park Primary School.

Promoting the interest of the school
throughout the community.
-
Fundraising.
-
Facilities planning and oversight,
including maintaining buildings, grounds and equipment.
-
Participation in the School Watch
Program.
